Metolius Count 2025 Report
The Metolius Count celebrated its 40th year on July 12th. 18 participants plus five children split intro two groups and surveyed in areas on either side of the Metolius River. Hot temperatures and sunny skies brought out the butterflies and a tally of 37 identified species and a total of 752 individuals was recorded. A few species were noticeably missing or in fewer numbers and a few of the normally wetter habitats were completely dry. See complete list below:
